Job Description

Adelphi is seeking highly qualified and experienced Social Worker for a crisis responding team for the city of Urbana Illinois . The Ideal candidate will have experience in crisis intervention and work with individuals experiencing mental health crises with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or community mental health setting.

Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in social work or a related field required.
Master s degree in social work (MSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
Valid driver s license and reliable transportation.
Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Skills:
Strong crisis intervention and deescalation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement and other community partners.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Knowledge of community resources and mental health services.
Proficiency in technical skills.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with law enforcement on active calls and provide crisis intervention for mental health emergencies including suicidal ideation.
Assess risk levels and immediate needs complete necessary documentation and handle involuntary admission petitions as required by law.
Conduct followup visits and calls with individuals exhibiting concerning behavior.
Develop and implement personalized care plans and connect clients to community resources and services.
Offer ongoing support and advocacy for clients navigating healthcare and social service systems.
Coordinate with police mental health professionals and community organizations to ensure effective care and services.
Attend team meetings to review cases and improve service delivery maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
Assist with community engagement efforts for individuals with mental or behavioral health challenges.
Train law enforcement personnel on mental health issues crisis intervention techniques and effective communication strategies.
Provide educational resources on mental health and available support services and offer continuous educational opportunities for yourself and others in the role.
Other duties as assigned.
