Job Description
Our client is one of Africa s largest economy and continues to cement its Group s position as one of the leading and most diversified consumer brand builders in the country. Due to expansion they are in need of a PURCHASING OFFICER.
LOCATION: LFZ Lagos.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
- Source for materials goods products and services and negotiating the best or most costeffective contracts and deals.
- Perform inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary.
- Coordinate with the delivery team and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.
- Establishing professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.
- Review quality of purchased products.
- Prepare reports on purchases including cost analyses.
- Manage records of all orders payments and business stock.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor s degree in business logistics or a related field.
- Minimum of 23 years experience in a similar role in the FMCG industry.
- Experience with purchasing software.
- The ability to identify market trends and make decisions in a highstress environment.
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching evaluating and liaising with vendors)
- Negotiation skills
Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors) Hands-on experience with purchasing software (e.g. Procurify or SpendMap) Understanding of supply chain procedures Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
