Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Database Optimization Specialist to join our team.
In this role you will be responsible for optimizing SQL queries and database resources to maximize system performance.
You will leverage advanced techniques such as index tuning query rewriting and execution plan optimization. Additionally you will manage and maintain the Snowflake data platform ensuring high levels of performance security and availability.
SQL Query and Database Optimization:
Expertly optimize SQL queries to enhance system performance.
Utilize advanced techniques including index tuning query rewriting and refactoring.
Optimize join orders execution plans subqueries and correlated queries.
Perform data retrieval and storage optimization to improve efficiency.
Conduct resource utilization and bottleneck analysis to identify and resolve performance issues.
Snowflake Data Platform Management:
Manage and maintain the Snowflake data platform including user administration and resource management.
Perform regular backups and ensure efficient data recovery procedures are in place.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues or errors related to the Snowflake data system.
Monitor system logs and alerts taking proactive measures to prevent potential problems.
Stay updated with the latest Snowflake features updates and best practices and implement improvements as needed.
Data Security and Access Control:
Develop and implement robust data security and access control measures to protect data integrity.
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and company policies.
Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless integration of the Snowflake platform with other data systems and applications.
Document and maintain detailed records of all system configurations changes and processes
Requirements
- Strong SQL knowledge and proficiency in SQL query optimization
- Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts
- Including data modeling
- ETL processes
- Dimensional modeling Experience
- Managing and administering database management systems such as MySQL Oracle or SQL Server Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures as well as data security and integrity principles
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
