Senior Safety and Risk Engineer Major Oil and Gas portfolio Flexible work options Perth based

Our client a leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Safety and Risk Engineer to join their team for one of their major Oil and Gas projects portfolio. They currently own one of the strongest project portfolios in WA across the Mining Oil & Gas and Energy sectors. Due to their variety and stable project pipeline they offer longterm contracts which they are keen to turn into ongoing or permanent arrangements according to your preference.

In this position you will be working on one of the largest LNG portfolios in Western Australia which could open up other future opportunities for your career. Additionally you can expect flexible working options such as WFH or flexible work hours that can leave room for your personal commitments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various safety studies and deliverables (e.g SCEIA SCIA EMEA FHA QRA HFE NFHA Bowtie Assessment Safety Case Noise Assessment Flare Radiation Gas Dispersion Fire Protection and Detection and Alarm System deliverables etc.)
  • Assist in the riskbased decisionmaking
  • Apply safety in design principles to the assigned projects
  • Comply with safety regulations and applicable safetyrelated codes and standards across all aspects of the design/modification
  • Participate in and contribute to internal and client project meetings
  • Represent the Safety and Risk discipline in design reviews HAZOPs HAZIDs and LOPA
  • Deliver safe and sustainable engineering for asset lifecycle (SEAL) standards
  • Consistently display and enforce company values and behaviours to ensure safe reliable operations and client satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • A recognised Engineering Degree in the relevant discipline
  • Proven experience in safety and risk engineering gained in the oil and gas sector and ideally on brownfield projects (existing assets)
  • Experience in managing formal safety assessment (FSA) studies riskbased decisionmaking and the design/specification of safety critical equipment and systems
  • Knowledge and proficient use of relevant software such as DNV PHAST Pipenet and Flaresim.
  • Understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks and applicable codes/ standards
  • Excellent report writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work within a team/project environment
  • Proven experience in managing various projects and tasks with often changing and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in the support and mentorship of junior engineers
