Job Description

Job Title: HSE Manager International (British Fund)

Location: Kampla Uganda ( Euro 215M project )

Recriuiter : PILLARS Egypt

Our client is a leading international development organization that works towards improving the lives of people in developing countries. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Manager to join our team in Kampla Uganda. This position is funded by a British Government and will require the successful candidate to work closely with local partners and stakeholders.

As the HSE Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all operations in Uganda comply with international health safety and environmental standards. You will work closely with the project team to develop and implement HSE policies and procedures conduct risk assessments and provide training and support to staff and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with international standards and local regulations
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop risk management plans
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
  • Provide training and support to staff and partners on HSE policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards
  • Investigate and report on any accidents or incidents and make recommendations for prevention
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Keep uptodate with any changes in HSE regulations and standards and ensure implementation within the organization
  • Prepare and submit reports to the British organization funding the project on HSE performance and progress
  • Manage and maintain all HSErelated documentation and records

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management preferably in an international development context
  • Knowledge of international HSE standards and regulations
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk management plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse team
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to project sites within Uganda as required
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken
