Job Description

Job Overview :

As the Head of Department you will be the driving force behind your teams success providing strategic leadership and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the department operates efficiently and effectively aligning with the broader organizational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  1. New projects

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities for energy power projects

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients stakeholders and partners in the energy sector.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the hydroelectric power industry.

  • Negotiate and close deals while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure that sites are available before prefeasibility analysis.


  1. Electricity Sales

  • Develop strategies for the sale of electricity generated by company projects.

  • Establish and maintain contracts with electricity buyers including utility companies and private entities.

  • Monitor market prices and trends to optimize sales strategies and profitability.


  1. Sales Performance Monitoring

  • Track sales metrics and report to senior management regularly on sales progress challenges and market insights.

  • Implement timely corrective actions to address any deviations from sales targets.


  1. Marketing

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of marketing plans and activities to support sales objectives.

  • Oversee the creation of compelling marketing materials and campaigns to increase brand awareness and lead generation.

  1. Budget Management

  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives.

  • Ensure efficient use of resources and monitor expenditures to ensure funds are being utilized within the budgets.


6.Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Provide strategic leadership to the sales team.
  • Develop and implement departmental plans policies and procedures.
  • Align department activities with the overall business goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and encourage the sales team to achieve business targets and objectives.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the teams knowledge of the products/solutions we sell to our customers and on sales techniques.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide performance feedback regularly in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with various departments including technical legal and finance to ensure cohesive project execution and implementation of sales processes.

7. Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and consistent communication.
  • Provide clients with technical and commercial information about company solutions.
  • Gather client feedback to inform continuous improvement in products and services.

8. Learning & Development

  • Continuously strive to develop your knowledge and skills further.
  • Engage proactively with colleagues both in your team and cross functionally in order to make improvements and further develop the Sales function.
  • Perform any additional duties related to the abovementioned duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by your manager.







Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Marketing or a related field.

  • MBA is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management preferably within the renewable energy sector



A first degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or any relevant discipline. Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. ACCA/CPA. Knowledge of Stock Accounting/Inventory Management support especially for petroleum products, will be an added advantage.
