Job Brief: Senior Piggery Stockperson

Our Australian employer client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Piggery Stockperson to join their team in Australia. As a leader in the agricultural industry our client pride themselves on providing highquality products and services to their customers. They are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who shares their values and has a strong background in pig farming.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the piggery including feeding breeding and health monitoring of the pigs

Manage a team of stockpersons and provide guidance and training to ensure the highest level of animal welfare and production standards are met

Maintain accurate records of herd performance production and inventory levels

Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the piggery facilities

Work closely with the farm manager to develop and implement herd management plans and strategies

Conduct routine health checks and administer medications as needed

Identify and address any issues or concerns with pig health or production

Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and biosecurity protocols

Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure efficient and effective operations

Monitor and manage inventory levels of feed supplies and equipment

Assist with the planning and execution of herd movements and transportation

Keep uptodate with industry developments and implement best practices to improve herd performance and efficiency

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate in Pork Production Agriculture Animal Science Animal Husbandry and/or higher relevant qualification
  • At least 3 years of recent and relevant experience in a mediumtolarge commercial pig farm

Other Skills:

  • Ability to work with a team and/or independently with less supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • With a good English test score is an advantage (minimum PTE score 36 or IELTS 5.0)
  • Experience in Canada Japan Demark USA and New Zealand is an advantage
  • Must have a valid Drivers license
  • Strong understanding of pig behavior health and nutrition
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and biosecurity protocols
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed
