Job Description
Are you ready to be at the forefront of creating groundbreaking optical products Optotune is looking for an experienced Group Leader Materials Engineering to join our team and drive the future of optical technology.
Tasks
- Lead and inspirethe Optotune materials engineering team following Optotunes core values
- Drive investigations of new materials with focus on polymers thin films metals coatings and bonding technologies
- Implement and maintain structures for selecting the best materials for highvolume manufacturing and carry out feasibility studies
- Define and implement structures for materials topics (handling instructions safety knowledge database evaluation framework )
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams (engineering supply chain production quality) communicate proactively and manage stakeholders
Requirements
- MSc degree PhD preferred in Chemistry or Materials Science
- At least 5 years of broad industrial materials experience in the product development and production environment preferably in a highvolume environment
- At least 2 years of experience and passion for team leadership
- Proven experience in formulating polymerbased systems tailoring of mechanical and optical properties
- Handson experience with thermomechanical (DMA TMA DSC TGA) and optical (UVVIS spectrometry FTIR)material characterization methodsrequired.Knowledge of advanced chemical analysis methods (GPC ICPMS GCMS HPLC) preferred.
- Experience in supporting Operations on materials topics (quality supply chain production)
- Drive and motivation in the workplace
- Strong planner and executer
- Proficiency in English required German skills is preferred
