Job Description

Job Advertisement: Senior Engineer (UK Residential Sector)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with substantial experience in the UK residential sector to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and can mentor and guide junior team members fostering a collaborative working environment.

Reports to: Associate or Principal Engineer



Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Technical and Commercial Execution: Manage the technical and commercial aspects of project work ensuring successful completion.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and delegate tasks to junior engineers and technicians helping to develop their skills.
  • Complex Analysis and Design: Undertake complex engineering analysis and design calculations.
  • Quality Assurance: Check the work of other engineers and technicians to maintain high standards.
  • Business Management: Implement business management systems and assist in preparing fee bids.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects including invoicing and resource management.
  • Staff Development: Assist in the training appraisal and management of technical staff.
  • Client Interaction: Develop strong relationships with clients and provide advice on complex engineering matters during meetings and inspections.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in the UK residential sector. Experience in a consulting environment is highly desirable.
  • Education: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional Membership: Chartered or Incorporated Engineer Member of IStructE ICE or another relevant institution.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication interpersonal skills and commercially aware. Proven ability in engineering design and reporting.
