Manage projects within the Capital Improvements Department ensuring adherence to standards project schedules and budgets.
Collaborate with internal shareholders including city officials department managers and project teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure needs and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff fostering a collaborative and knowledgesharing environment.
Coordinate with consultants regulatory agencies and contractors through planning design and construction phases to ensure compliance with applicable codes regulations and permitting requirements.
Stay abreast of emerging industry trends best practices and technological advancements to continuously improve engineering process and methodologies.
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or the ability to obtain within six (6) months.
Minimum of ten (10) years of civil engineering experience with demonstrated experience in design/managing capital improvement projects; municipal experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles practices and standards including but not limited to transportation water resources utilities and infrastructure design.
Proficiency in utilizing engineering software and tools for design analysis and project management.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and internal/external stakeholders.
Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
