Support the design of projects within the Capital Improvements Department ensuring adherence to standards project schedules and budgets.
Assist in the preparation of construction drawings cost estimates specifications bid documents and construction schedules.
Coordinate with consultants regulatory agencies and contractors through planning design and construction phases to ensure compliance with applicable codes regulations and permitting requirements.
Stay abreast of emerging industry trends best practices and technological advancements to continuously improve engineering process and methodologies.
Requires the ability to drive sit stand kneel twist climb and lift moderate weight (up to 50 pounds). Will be exposed to seasonal temperatures while inspecting project sites. Protective clothing or equipment on job sites is required.
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with certification as an EngineerinTraining (EIT) in Texas or ability to obtain within twelve (12) months.
Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D Adobe and/or Bluebeam.
Knowledge of engineering principles practices and standards including but not limited to transportation water resources utilities and infrastructure design.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
