GENERAL ACCOUNTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Chief Accountant
Our client is one of the leading agroprocessing companies in Ghana and Africa.
Scope
The General Accountant will be primarily responsible for ensuring the accurate and complete recording of accounting transactions timely close of monthend accounting records and preparation of financial reports and schedules to internal and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to reconcile invoices with purchase orders received
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
- Conduct monthly suppliers reconciliations on schedule
- Settle accounts by matching payments against invoices.
- Prepare local invoices of raw materials and foreign suppliers bookings
- Check cost accounts and close daily orders.
- Prepare additional purchase costing schedules
- Create schedule of approved new suppliers
- File invoices accurately for easy references
- Prepare weekly and monthly payable schedule
- Other functions as assigned by Finance Manager
Requirements
Requirements
- A Bachelor s degree/HND in Finance Accounting and other relevant fields.
- Certification in ACCA or in final level of certification program preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years experience as an accountant or in similar roles.
- Experience working within a multinational organisation will be an added advantage
- A good working knowledge of any major accounting software
- High proficiency in MS Office Suites (Excel Word and PowerPoint).
- Must be detail oriented
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
