Your Role:
Reporting to the Controller you will be the cornerstone of our financial transformation. As the Manager of Accounting Services you will:
Lead and Manage Accounting Operations:
- Provide visionary leadership to the Accounting Services department.
- Ensure efficient operations and high performance within budget limitations.
- Oversee cash handling practices ensuring PCI compliance and internal controls.
Drive Financial Excellence:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Safeguard and report on the colleges fixed assets and revenue sources.
- Administer the Purchasing Card program with impeccable precision.
Innovate and Implement:
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls for new initiatives.
- Lead financial system changes and ensure seamless integration and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive management reports and presentations to support decisionmaking.
Ensure Compliance and Integrity:
- Coordinate monthend and yearend financial statement preparations.
- Maintain compliance with statutory legislation and accounting guidelines.
- Lead CRA commodity tax audits and ensure proper tax compliance.
Foster a HighPerforming Team:
- Recruit motivate and evaluate staff ensuring a collaborative and highperforming environment.
- Provide training and mentoring to ensure the continuous development of your team.
Act as a Trusted Consultant:
- Advise on financial policies and procedures providing training sessions and reference materials.
- Develop sound relationships with external service providers and ensure optimal service levels.
What You Bring:
- A minimum 4year undergraduate degree in Accounting Business or Commerce.
- CPA designation is required at the time of hire.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience including management and public accounting.
- Deep knowledge of fullcycle accounting and technical expertise.
- Experience with financial system upgrades implementations and external auditing.
- Strong project management and process improvement skills.
- Ability to handle high volumes of work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills to mobilize action and engage others.
