The Role

We are seeking Solicitors/FCILEx Litigation Executives to join their Housing Disrepair team. This role involves managing a caseload of Housing Disrepair and FCILEx cases from start to finish including assessing claims conducting legal research drafting legal documents and providing clear advice to clients. You will represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and ethical standards.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of Housing Disrepair and FCILEx cases from start to finish
• Assess claims and conduct legal research
• Draft legal documents and provide clear advice to clients
• Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards
• Take a pragmatic commercial approach to settlements and client advice
• Supervise and assist junior staff members
• Engage in continuous professional development

Experience Required:

• Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with a minimum of 12 years PQE in housing disrepair
• Ideally you will have at least 12 years PQE in housing disrepair have strong knowledge of the housing disrepair protocol and be comfortable with housing disrepair litigation
• Understanding of Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 Section 4 of the Defective Premises Act 1972 The Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 common law nuisance and negligence
• Full understanding of the PreAction Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims (England and Wales)
• Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills
• The candidate must have experience in handling Housing Disrepair files from start to end including working on litigated files.
