Job Description

We are looking for Mechanical Engineer. This is a boots on the ground, construction management opportunity for someone with prior mechanical engineering experience in commercial or residential construction.

Details:
Permanent, long-term opportunity
Schedule: Hybrid in Washington, DC, US
Start: ASAP
Experience: 5 years
US citizen or have green card – MUST
Experience working for a General Contractor or Subcontractor – MUST

They focus on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainable construction projects. Founded in 1993, EcoSystem has over 160 employees and active projects in Washington, DC, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Boston and Los Angeles. Our client is dedicated to addressing the complex energy and decarbonization challenges faced by the world today. Their multidisciplinary and pioneering team of engineers is responsible for the success of multimillion-dollar projects.
Here are some of the projects they have been working on recently in the US:
Georgetown University
International Tailoring Company Building
North Shore School District, and a major sports stadium in San Diego.

What to do:
  • Oversee on-site construction operations, managing subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders at higher-education facilities.
  • Drive the success of projects in a versatile and highly integrated team, working in tandem from design to completion, while ensuring safety and quality.
  • Manage and resolve technical challenges on-site by leveraging your problem-solving skills to achieve project goals more efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Navigate change and scope creep, always balancing costs, budgets, schedules, and people.
  • Propose, estimate, and present project upgrades to clients.
  • Understand aspects of energy performance measures before committing to implementation.
  • Assume responsibility for managing project construction execution, adhering to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience.

You have:
  • 5+ years of construction management/project management/project engineering experience with recognized leadership in execution.
  • Experience in HVAC or mechanical construction.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, and negotiating skills in English.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, resilience, and determination.
  • Quick critical thinking ability under pressure.
  • Top-notch organizational skills.
  • Resourceful with excellent judgment.

Client offers:
  • Employer covers medical at 80-100%, dental up to 80%, vision same as medical bt 80-100%, STD and LTD covered at 100%.
  • Access to FSA and HAS.
    401k match up to 3.5% if employee contributes up to 6%.
  • 15 vacation days plus 5 personal and 10 holidays plus 1 floating holidays – also closed bt Dec 25- Jan 1st
