Senior Cyber Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design implementation and management of advanced security measures to protect our organization s IT infrastructure and data. This role involves strategic planning advanced threat analysis and collaboration with crossfunctional teams to ensure a robust security posture.

• Security Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and policies to protect the organization s IT infrastructure and data assets.
  
• Advanced Threat Analysis: Conduct advanced threat analysis and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
  
• Incident Response: Lead the response to complex security incidents conduct thorough investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  
• Security Architecture: Design and oversee the implementation of advanced security architectures and solutions ensuring they align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  
• Compliance: Ensure the organizations security practices comply with relevant regulations and standards such as GDPR POPIA ISO 27001 and NIST.
  
• Security Monitoring: Implement and manage advanced security monitoring and intrusion detection systems to detect and respond to security threats in realtime.
  
• Vulnerability Management: Lead vulnerability assessments and penetration testing efforts. Develop and oversee remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities.
  
• Training and Awareness: Conduct advanced security training and awareness programs for employees and IT teams to promote best practices and reduce the risk of security breaches.
  
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT development and business teams to integrate security measures into all aspects of the organization s operations.
  
• Documentation: Maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation of security policies procedures incident reports and security architecture.
  
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest security trends threats and technologies. Continuously improve security practices and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cyber Security or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred.
  
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP CISM CEH or CompTIA Security.
  

• 1012 years of experience in cyber security or a related role with a strong track record of managing and implementing advanced security measures.
  
• Extensive experience with cloud security in platforms like AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
  
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g. Python PowerShell).
  
• Experience in leading security operations centers (SOC) or similar environments.
  

• Extensive experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) antivirus software and SIEM solutions.
  
• Proficiency in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  
• Deep understanding of network protocols operating systems and web application security.
  
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST ISO 27001 and CIS Controls.
  

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to address complex security challenges.
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate security concepts to technical and nontechnical
  
• stakeholders.
