Google Automotive Services Developer

Location: Tokyo

Job Summary: As a Google Automotive Services Developer/Android Developer you will be at the forefront of designing developing and maintaining automotive software solutions that integrate with Googles suite of services. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to create innovative applications and features for Android Automotive OS that improve vehicle connectivity navigation entertainment and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop test and maintain automotive applications and services integrated with Googles ecosystem on Android Automotive OS.
• Collaborate with product managers designers and other engineers to define design and ship new features.
• Write clean maintainable and efficient code while adhering to best practices and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot debug and optimize performance for a variety of automotive software systems.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in automotive and Android technology integrating relevant features into our products.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality reliability and security.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement analysis design implementation testing and deployment.
• Work closely with automotive manufacturers and suppliers to integrate Google services into their vehicles.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in software development preferably in the automotive or IoT domain.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java Kotlin C or Python.
• Extensive experience with Android development including experience with Android Automotive OS and Android Studio.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices design patterns and algorithms.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g. CAN LIN Ethernet) and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Google Automotive Services (GAS) and related APIs.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles.

Preferred:

• Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with Android Automotive OS and related frameworks.
• Experience with cloud services and APIs particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with embedded systems development.
• Passion for automotive technology and innovation.
