Supervisory Responsibilities:
Leads and directs all Accounting Department operations which include cost accounting accounts payable accounts receivable invoicing and collections general ledger fixed assets sales tax inventory and payroll.
Manages the accounting staff in the daily performance of their responsibilities to ensure the proper functioning accuracy timeliness and results.
Mentor and develop the accounting team. Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
Essential Duties:
Establishes and maintains the Companys accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy transparency and dependability in the Companys financial reporting; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Responsible for monthend and yearend closing; responsible for preparation and analysis of monthly internal financial and management reports; ensures the reported results comply with GAAP;
Monitors operational results against plan and directs the preparation of financial production output and other reports used to measure and control activities and costs.
Provides key financial analysis and management reporting; provides guidance on investment and project decisions; recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the companys performance.
Ensures costs for the companys products and services are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance with financial accounting standards.
Oversees cost controls systems and prepares cost accounting reports for presentation to top management. Gathers historical cost data (materials labor overhead) to compare actual expenses with budget expenses.
Prepare monthly costing variances from the manufacturing facilities including variances in spend labor material and overhead. Present manufacturing variances which enables clear understanding leading to driving performance improvements.
Routinely work with operational and line of business leaders and executive team to analyze trends anticipate issues and develop solutions to problems or challenges that arise in the business.
Recommend and implements programs to improve productivity increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
Assist with the production of the annual budget and monthly forecasts; assists in the preparation of the annual review.
Ensures compliance with local state and federal government requirements including completion of various required reports.
Requirements/Preferences:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
Experience: Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation required.
Five years or more of related controller and supervisory experience required.
Five years related manufacturing and cost accounting experience required.
Experience with multistate sales tax requirements preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite specifically Microsoft Excel.
Five years of ERP experience; Epicor experience preferred
Ability to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the Company.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Able to travel as needed.
