Manager Security Operations - IOC

Qatar Airways Security department are seeking an experienced aviation manager to lead our Security Operations team. As Manager Security Operations, you will lead a 24/7 security team that supports the Qatar Airways operation with specialist advice and real-time decision making. You will be responsible for the training and management of the team and engage with the leadership of the Qatar Airways Integrated Operations Center (IOC) to ensure that the operation complies with security standards and procedures. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong aviation operations background, as well as exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. In this role you will: • Provide operational oversight and manage a five-strong 24/7 IOC Security Operations Manager (SOM) team. • Resolve non-routine operational security incidents or escalate these and participate in urgent security assessments as required. • Oversee the security contribution to the Group Emergency Response Center, ensuring that all processes are fully documented, regularly reviewed and trained. • Engage with the IOC leadership to raise security awareness and ensure that the Qatar Airways operation is compliant with all security policies and procedures. • Collate and assess information on security operational incidents at network stations and Hamad International Airport, and support specialist aviation security teams in their investigations. • Refine, develop and implement SOM security processes and procedures, ensuring they are rigorous and in line with international security regulations, with an emphasis on continuous improvement, automation and digitalisation. Qualifications Candidates with the following background and qualifications will be considered for this position: Qualifications: • College or University qualification to minimum Bachelor's level (preferred but not essential) Previous Experience: • Minimum 8 years relevant aviation experience (9 years if without degree). • Experience in aviation operations, with a demonstrable understanding of aviation security policy and procedures. • Experience in managing a team and building effective working relationships with colleagues. Job Specific Skills: • Proven ability to work in an aviation operations environment. • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complexity and make decisions in real time. • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to convey messages clearly and concisely. • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships, influence and maintain dialogue with managers, staff and external stakeholders at all levels.
