Pharmacy Director

Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in North Carolina in search of a highly talented Pharmacy Director.

Job Summary:

Twentyfour hours of accountability for the department including: effective performance management communication resource management and leadership. Responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical services that meet state and federal regulations.

Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

Reviews interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify prevent and resolve potential or actual drugrelated problems.

Provides drug information and education to medical staff healthcare professionals and patients and pharmacy students.

Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.

Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.

Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.

Hire supervise train evaluate and administer corrective action for departmental personnel.

Performs administrative activities to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Interprets physicianwritten drug orders assigns appropriate administering schedule and adds/deletes orders to the patients drug therapy profile accurately.

Assigns schedule for drug administration when necessary according to existing medication schedules frequency/duration requirements and urgency of therapy implementation.

Minimum Education: A bachelors degree is required.

Certifications/Licenses
Active License by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Health Association is required.

Required Skills:
Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
