Role: Software and Automation Engineer

Location: Houston TX (onsite)

Duration: FullTime

Required Skills:

• Software Development creating automation software for highly critical machinery as well as connecting these machines to external cloud systems
• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering Electrical Engineering or any related field.
• A minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in software development and automation engineering.
• Effective communication skills to bridge the gap between engineering and programming domains
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints/plans
• Firm understanding of the Software Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Demonstrated experience in software development and testing.
• Proficient in Linux operating system.
• Proficient in more than one major programming language (Java C# Go Python...)
• Strong understanding of Version Control technologies
• Strong understanding of Client Server Architecture.
• Strong understanding of web technologies both front end and back end.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automation software for highly critical machinery ensuring reliability and efficiency.
• Integrate machinery with external cloud systems for data collection analysis and remote monitoring.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather and define software requirements and specifications.
• Utilize container technologies like Docker for efficient deployment and scaling of applications.
• Implement version control best practices using GIT.
• Guide and mentor junior team members fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing of applications before deployment.
• Provide technical support for software solutions ensuring that software issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions are current and competitive.
