Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting our organization's IT
infrastructure and data by identifying vulnerabilities implementing security
measures and responding to security incidents. This role involves working closely
with IT teams and business units to ensure a secure computing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Assessments: Conduct regular security assessments vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response: Respond to security incidents investigate breaches and mitigate the impact of security threats. Develop and maintain incident response plans.
- Security Architecture: Design implement and maintain security architectures and solutions to protect the organizations IT infrastructure and data.
- Policy Development: Develop and enforce security policies standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitoring: Implement and manage security monitoring tools to detect and respond to security threats in realtime.
- Security Awareness: Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote best practices and reduce the risk of human error.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations such as GDPR POPIA and ISO 27001.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams to integrate security measures into the development and deployment of IT systems and applications.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies procedures incident response plans and security architecture.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay uptodate with the latest security trends threats and technologies. Continuously improve security practices and tools.

Requirements
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cyber Security or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP CISM CEH or CompTIA Security.
- Experience: 57 years of experience in cyber security or a related role with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
- Experience with cloud security in platforms like AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g. Python PowerShell).
- Experience in security operations centers (SOC) or similar environments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) antivirus software and SIEM solutions.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of network protocols operating systems and web application security.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST ISO 27001 and CIS Controls.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identify and address complex security issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate security concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
