Job Description

The Role:
We are seeking applications from Specialist/Consultant Anaesthetists wanting to join a committed team of consultants to provide high quality anaesthesia and perioperative services to a diverse community in a highly desirable location.

The Department has been successfully run by a passionate and driven Clinical Director, who has led the department from strength to strength, offering a wealth of knowledge and experience.

You will participate in the supervision and training of Anaesthetic registrars and junior medical staff and to participate equitably in an afterhours and weekend duty roster.

The Hospital:
Undergone significant redevelopment!! 180 beds with all the specialities you would expect of a Rural/Regional Hospital, providing you with a diverse mix of elective and emergency cases with support from the tertiary centre - Serves approximately 100,000 people.

The Location:
Located just 3 hours north of Sydney, 2 hours north of Newcastle and 1 hour from Port Macquarie. For those who yearn for more action, there's plenty to keep you busy, from water sports and fishing to bush walking and horse-riding in the surrounding areas. There are few places in New South Wales that offer such a superb choice of fishing in and deep-sea, lake, rock, river, or beach format.

This a fine base for exploring the many attractions of the Valley and Great Lakes regions. These include natural attractions of the coast and hinterland national parks and state forests, as well as several surrounding villages of considerable charm. There are plenty of shopping facilities, restaurants, and cafes as well as arts and craft shops and the Art Gallery.

Skills & Qualifications required:
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent
