Position Overview:
The Human Resources Manager will plan manage and coordinate all activities related to Human Resources functions. This includes labor relations recruitment compensation benefits employee relations training communications safety programs and community relations. You will work proactively with management to develop HR strategies that align with company performance goals and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a consultant to managers on employment laws HR processes programs and policies.
- Develop and maintain a positive department work environment fostering harmonious relationships across departments.
- Coach and support managers on performance management processes.
- Provide training on interviewing hiring and termination processes.
- Develop and maintain an effective employee orientation program.
- Manage change and promote a culture of operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS systems.
- Develop key performance indicator reports and analyze HR data.
- Coordinate plant training on legislated issues and respond to policy inquiries.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Safety departments to ensure accurate documentation and promote health and safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; 410 years of related experience in a unionized industrial environment.
- Strong negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret business periodicals technical procedures and government regulations.
- Proficiency in database software HR systems internet software payroll systems spreadsheet software and word processing software.
- Valid drivers license.
- PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
Physical and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to stand walk sit use hands reach and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; must occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds.
- Vision abilities include close vision color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
