Diesel Mechanic - Pietermaritzburg

Our Client in the Construction industry requires a Diesel Mechanic to join their team Experience in Earthmoving Equipment is ESSENTIAL Preferably living in or near the Pietermaritzburg area.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic preferably in the maintenance and repair of earthmoving equipment.
• Familiarity with various diesel engines hydraulic systems transmissions and electrical systems used in heavy equipment.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in diagnosing repairing and maintaining diesel engines and related components.
• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems including pumps cylinders valves and hoses.
• Competence in repairing and replacing transmissions brakes steering systems and other mechanical components.
• Knowledge of electrical systems including wiring diagrams circuits and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools and software used in modern equipment maintenance.

Safety Compliance:

• Understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to working on heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and practices.

Certifications:

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. (Preferably with Code 14)
• Preferably Red Seal Trade Certification
