Technical Foreman Mining Earthmoving

My client an Industry leader in Mining Transportation & Plant hire is looking for an experienced Technical Manager/Mine Foreman with strong Mining experience to oversee production operations on a Sand Mine at Macassar near Khayelitsha Western Cape

Duties & Responsibilities

• Overseeing all operations both on site and in the office administration
• Coordinating production and monitoring all site systems.
• Must be firm with staff and able to discipline when necessary
• You should also be able to optimize daytoday activities while minimizing the costs
• Track and record production plans and forecasts as well as identifying and flagging potential risk areas
• Ensure the safe use of equipment (Earth Moving/Construction/ Extraction/Material Hauling/Processing/Storage and Stockpiling/Shipping/Facilities Maintenance and Operations) Schedule regular maintenance of equipment

Requirements

• General Administration
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Must be able to communicate fluently in Afrikaans and English
• Good knowledge of industrial sand mine/ quarry and processing (advantageous)
• Good technical/mechanical knowledge relating to mining equipment
• Good knowledge of Health and safety legislation
• Management and leadership skills (will manage all staff at mine)
• Team player and very good communicator.
• Analytical and inquisitive nature
• Tolerance for stress
• Ability to operate Excavators Bowsers and the like will be a definite plus.

Vehicle Usage

The person will report to the main office in Parow Industrial in the mornings and will drive from here to the mine with a company vehicle.

After closing the mine at 17h00 to 18h00 he will be expected to come back to the office to drop off vehicle and home from there.

The official mining hours: Start 07h00 to 17h00 and every second Saturday until around 13h00.
