Tasks

At paretos you will be part of the engineering team to develop and operate the paretos platform. You will work together with our applied scientists and data engineers to develop the part of our product using cuttingedge artificial intelligence to bring optimization and automation to our current and future customers. On the mission to help businesses with No More Bad Decisions you will be responsible for:

• Bringing datadriven decision making into easytouse products or applications
• Working together with a diverse and motivated team on the full lifecycle of our product where engineering concepts are discussed and iterated as well as new requirements for our product
• Collaborating with a high achieving team to design test and operate scalable software products
• Applying best practices for agile development including clean code testing and code reviews

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Engineering Computer Science or a related technical field
• 4 years of working experience as a backend engineer preferably in an operations research or mathematics intensive environment
• Proven experience in creating products or applications that address complex and ambiguous business problems. Experience in the Retail Logistics or Manufacturing industries is a plus
• You are used to working autonomously and selfdetermined
• Fluent in English German speaking is a plus

Software Development

• Proficiency in Python (2 years)
• Solid grasp of objectoriented programming principles
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms including complexity theory
• Experience with backend development frameworks and tools.
• Knowledge in relational databases (SQL)

Operations Research Expertise

• Understanding of linear mixed integer nonlinear or dynamic programming and familiarity with optimization software (CBC Gurobi CPLEX etc.)
