Job Description

Administrative Support Personnel

Norton McMullen LLP is a fullservice CPA firm located in Markham that has been in business for over 55 years. Employing over 80 people our Firm is built on the core values of integrity teamwork leadership and excellence.

Through a combination of wellintegrated services and specialized sector expertise we serve the diverse needs of organizations from small to midsized ownermanaged businesses at every stage in their business life cycle.

We are seeking trustworthy candidates who work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy to join our team. The position offers significant opportunities for growth in compensation and skill development.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Provide clerical and general administrative office support

Backup for Main Receptionist: Greet clients and answer the phone and client questions

Manage and maintain filing system

Maintain accurate tracking systems

Type financial statements reports letters and other business correspondence

Assemble tax returns and government forms

Provide support to clients as required

Scanning photocopying faxing binding statements and mailing/couriering documents

Electronically file tax returns (trust corporate and personal)

Other administrative duties and projects as required

A successful candidate will have:

A residence located a reasonable driving distance to Hwy 7 and Hwy 404 in Markham. (This position requires daily attendance at our Markham office. It is not remote.)

Excellent English communication skills and ability to deliver a high level of service both internally and externally to staff and clients

A high level of accuracy and strong attention to details

Ability to work in a fastpaced environment

Excellent problemsolving skills

Strong time management skills including the ability to manage conflicting priorities work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Available to work (paid) overtime hours (some evenings and/or Saturdays) during tax season (February – April)

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word Outlook

Knowledge of tax software such as TaxPrep or CCH Engagement would be an asset

Excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Passionate about continuous learning and working with people and numbers

A basic understanding of Canadian Tax / Financial Statement terminology is helpful though not required

Salary Expectation: $40000 $60000 (*Commensurate with experience & reviewed annually based on performance) Group Benefits package and RSP plan with companymatching is also available.
