DNS Cybersecurity Developer

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and configure our Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure ensuring optimal website performance and uptime.
  
• Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect our agencys network data and client information. This includes firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and vulnerability management.
  
• Stay uptodate on the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities proactively implementing security patches and updates.
  
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for all employees.
  
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses.
  
• Collaborate with developers and IT staff to ensure secure coding practices and system configurations.
  
• Communication with security solution providers
  
• Provide security awareness training for employees ()
  
• Respond to security incidents efficiently and effectively minimizing damage and downtime.
  
• Oversee agency web hosting services ensuring optimal performance scalability and security.
  
• Participate in the setup and configuration of new development staging and production environments.
  
• Maintain a deep understanding of server administration and security best practices.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 35 years of experience in network and/or cybersecurity administration.
  
• Backend development experience is highly desirable
  
• Proven experience in DNS management and configuration.
  
• Strong understanding of security best practices and frameworks (e.g. NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
  
• Working knowledge of common security tools and technologies (e.g. firewalls IDS/IPS vulnerability scanners).
  
• Experience with web hosting administration and various hosting platforms (e.g. shared hosting cloud hosting).
  
• Familiarity with server administration tasks including operating systems like Linux and Windows Server.
  
• Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
