Electrical Estimator

Responsibilities:

1. Project Evaluation: Review project documents specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
2. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and precise cost estimates for electrical projects including materials labor equipment subcontractor bids and other relevant expenses.
3. Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information and prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
4. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with projects and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project profitability.
5. Vendor and Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates bids contracts change orders and other relevant documentation.
7. Value Engineering: Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize project costs without compromising quality or client requirements.
8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams including engineers designers and construction managers to support project planning and execution.
9. Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends market conditions and regulatory requirements related to electrical construction and estimating practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months 1 year of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems codes and standards.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients subcontractors and team members.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
• Knowledge of local GTA market conditions and suppliers is an asset.
