About Tomorrow s Leaders NYC: Tomorrow s Leaders NYC Inc. (TLNYC) is a nonprofit organization that supports overage middle school students in Brooklyn Manhattan Queens and The Bronx NY. Tomorrow s Leaders was established to work with overage middle school students. An overage student is one or more years behind their actual grade. We are committed to providing social emotional academic and vocational development for these students from the time they enroll in the program through the successful completion of high school.

The Role: We are looking for a Director of Programs to join TLNYC s revolutionary youth development model. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an organization that is currently revamping its programmatic infrastructure to support additional junior high and high school students in Brooklyn Bronx Manhattan and Queens NY. The Director of Programs is a dynamic role for a person who can effectively and enthusiastically direct daytoday program operations support three to six (when fully implemented) fulltime staff members and 200 students across multiple sites (1015 site visits a month). This individual will maximize programming operational performance by designing and executing shortterm and longterm strategies supervising program staff and serving as an integral team member.


Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Operations (50%):

    • Ensure that staff properly documents delivery of all services to ensure regulatory compliance with performancebased standards of grants and contracts.

    • Ensure the preparation and collection of monthly statistical information and tracking/analyze/report program results.

    • Conduct presentations; represent TLNYC at funders/outside agencies/community meetings as requested and with public officials and other nonorganizations to recommend program and policy improvement.

    • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all reports (weekly monthly annually) and statistical information for both TLNYC management and funder use.

    • Assist with creation and oversight of all policies procedures and communications across the program to drive student outcomes; maintain relationships with regulatory bodies;

  • Leadership/Team Building (30%):

    • In partnership with the Executive Director (ED) support company objectives and goals by developing programmatic business parameters and processes and setting a vision for student culture.

    • Manage Site Coordinators program data collection program inventory and program events (e.g. ceremonies trips etc).

    • Support with various HRrelated tasks including recruitment hiring onboarding and terminations.


Contract and Vendor Management (20%):

  • Work with ED to manage purchasing and spending policies for all staff; forecasting and monitoring of program operations budgets ensuring appropriate levels of signoff and control in line with company culture and policies.

  • Assist the ED in identifying and analyzing programming opportunities and solidifying strategic partnerships for TLNYC s growth.

  • Assist periodically with managing endtoend partner and vendor (P&V) relationships including researching potential P&Vs and negotiating contracts.

Other duties as assigned by the ED

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Fulltime

  • Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Some weekends

Travel: Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time within Brooklyn The Bronx Manhattan and Queens. Travel reimbursement included.

Salary Range: $82000$85000 (plus bonuses and incentives)

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelors degree and five years of experience in youth development or education is required; Master s degree preferred.

  • At least 3 (three) years of supervisory experience.

    • Experience supervising multiple sites.

  • At least five years program operational leadership experience.

  • At least 1 (one) year of strategic planning experience.

  • Ability to navigate and succeed in a grassroots environment.

  • Ability to develop and steward partnerships with P&Vs.

  • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) knowledge.

  • Experience or background in outreach.

  • Operations and/or administration experience is desirable.

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Google Suite Canva.

  • Strong organizational written and verbal communication skills.

  • Social Work background a plus
