As a School Physical Therapist you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse student population collaborating with educators families and other professionals to support students with physical disabilities in achieving their educational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students motor skills strength range of motion and functional abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in accordance with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students including therapeutic exercises manual techniques and assistive device training both in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy goals into students educational plans and support their participation in classroom activities and school routines.
- Monitor students progress and adjust treatment plans as needed maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports.
- Educate and empower students families and school staff regarding strategies for promoting independence mobility and overall physical wellbeing.
Requirements
- Physical Therapy license in the state of Illinois
- Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy principles techniques and interventions.
- Commitment to evidencebased practice ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
