JOB PURPOSE:
Nishkam Civic Association a faithinspired civic organisation is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper with experience of using XERO to manage our financial records including purchases sales receipts and payments. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely financial reports. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the organisations financial health and compliance with legal standards.
The main purpose of the job is to provide:
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records for all daily transactions by using Xero (accounting software). Prepare bank deposits petty cash general ledger postings and statements.
- Credit Control: Ensure timely collection of payments monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve any discrepancies.
- Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts including profit and loss statements balance sheets and variances from the budget.
- Payment Runs: produce monthly payment runs ensuring all payments to suppliers are made on time.
- Debtor Report: produce monthly debtor reports and follow credit control process to ensure timely payments and minimise bad debts.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow regularly forecast future financial positions and prepare cash flow statements to manage incoming and outgoing funds effectively.
- Budget Management: Assist in preparing annual budgets monitor and report on deviations from the budget proposing corrective actions as needed.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. Compile and present reports budgets business plans commentaries and financial statements.
- Grant budget management: work closely with MD and Grants and Funding Manager to track grant income and expenditure to ensure accurate report to funders.
- Advisory: Provide advice on financial health and suggest improvements to increase efficiency or reduce costs.
