Job Description

1. Perform a wide range of quality assurance operations as necessary to measure total quality of parts to established customer requirements including inspection operation such as first piece part batch and inprocess inspection.

2. Calibrate QC inspection equipment as necessary. Keep all QC equipment in calibrated state. Maintain calibration log. Before calibration due date send out notification for calibration of equipment that cannot be calibrated in house.

3. Recommend drawing changes to improve quality or overcome manufacturing problems.

4. Working with Production Manager and Engineering Manager assist in the establishment and development of quality control procedures and methods and determine the disposition of nonconforming parts/materials.

5. Lead daily Materials Review Board (MRB) meetings to review nonconforming parts. Instruction production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.

6. Complete all required time and inspector reports/logs as well as updates to management on improvements in the quality process throughout the company.

7. Inspect work in process and finished parts in machine shop. Advise machinist and foremen.

8. Prepare and distribute weekly report to foreman and Manufacturing Technician on inspection results to minimize risk reduction of future parts rejections.

9. Maintain awareness of current Quality Standards and Regulatory requirements and recommend system improvements.

10. Keep equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition and adhere to all safety regulations.

11. Train and direct the activities of assigned QC personnel.

12. Perform other duties as assigned.

13. Be part of Internal Audit Team for ISO9001:2015 Quality Standard.


Requirements

BS in Engineering with knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods and minimum of three years related machine shop quality control inspection experience with company equipment or the equivalent in education and/or experience. Additional work experience can be a substitute for education. The ability to read complex drawings and equipment and to use a variety of precision measuring instruments.

Competencies:

Computer literate proficient in MS Office Suite.
Must know proper use and maintenance of measuring devices.
Must be able to read mechanical drawings.
Use of measuring devices gaging and working with close tolerances.
Must be familiar with QC sampling methods.

High school diploma or equivalent, technical school certification a plus 10+ years of CNC machining experience; primary proficiency in CNC turning Strong knowledge of lathe and mill tooling/inserts Be able to properly follow verbal instructions as well as interpret technical drawings/sketches Work well with others and collaborate on cross-departmental projects
