Accounting Assistant you will work with the accounting team to :
Process suppliers invoices issue payments and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payment.
Collect sort and document all invoices cheques and credit card receipts.
Reconcile bank accounts credit card accounts and other financial accounts to ensure that they accurately reflect the organization s financial position.
Prepare quarterly HST returns for review by Controller.
Record and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable payroll and general ledger entries.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts including analyzing financial data and identifying trends.
. Variance analysis
Preparing month end financial reports and initial notes.
. Understanding of Accruals Deferred Revenue Asset Register Maintenance and Prepaids.
Manage other daily accounting tasks including data entry using the accounting software adhering to Canadian GAAP/ASPE.
Keep a thorough record of business transactions.
Prepare monthend reports for review by the Controller.
Maintain and enhance financial filing systems.
Provide general administrative support such as answering phones responding to emails and any other support as needed/assigned.
Requirements
What will you bring
Bachelor s degree/ Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration Finance or a related field (CPA is a plus)
Knowledge in fullcycle accounting with a minimum of 35 years of experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role
Strong understanding of revenue recognition fixed asset schedules full cycle bookkeeping and accounting principles is required in this role.
Proficient with Accounting Software Excel Microsoft Office Gsuite
Strong time management and TECH SKILLS.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Proficient in English (Fluent)
Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
