Job Description

Role Description:

As a Junior Board Member (Volunteer) you will be critical in supporting our mission by identifying funding opportunities writing compelling grant proposals and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). This position is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in minorityowned businesses and eager to gain valuable experience in board governance and nonprofit funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Grant Writing:

    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align mission and objectives.
    • Write edit and submit highquality grant proposals to foundations government agencies and other funding organizations.
    • Collaborate with the board and staff to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications.
    • Track and report on the status of grant applications and manage deadlines.
  • RFP Responses:

    • Review and analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to identify those that fit Nexodus BPO s capabilities and goals.
    • Develop and write detailed and persuasive RFP responses ensuring all requirements and specifications are met.
    • Work with internal teams to collect and organize the information needed for RFP submissions.
    • Maintain records of all RFP submissions and outcomes.
  • Board Participation:

    • Attend and actively participate in board meetings providing insights and updates on grant and RFP activities.
    • Assist in strategic planning and decisionmaking processes related to funding and resource allocation.
    • Support other board members and staff in various initiatives and projects as needed.

  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to research and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Basic understanding of grant writing and RFP processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
