Senior Functional Analyst

About the Role

The Information Systems (IS) Life team is responsible for delivering and maintaining systems and applications that support the Life business division of our customer. We are currently seeking a handson functional senior analyst with strong collaborative skills to work with various stakeholders across projects including Business IS and Testing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Definition: Define architectural changes to support various business initiatives.
• Business Requirements Analysis: Receive analyze and design IT architectural solutions based on business requirements.
• Solution Development: Develop solutions covering assets such as user interfaces business logic and database architecture across multiple technology layers (.Net/C# REST API Azure Service Bus Web Cobol SQL).
• Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate directly with the business project leaders and development teams supporting projects from inception to deployment.
• Project Leadership: Take responsibility for project architecture presenting solutions to various stakeholders and ensuring effective communication throughout.
• Enterprise Modelling: Contribute to enterprise modelling efforts.
• Testing Support: Support the test phase before user delivery and propose corrective actions when necessary.
• Work Package Management: Break down projects into Work Packages and create realistic plans in collaboration with Project Leaders.
• Solution Justification: Justify architectural choices based on standards and propose new patterns when needed.
• Asynchronous Patterns: Develop solutions comfortable with asynchronous patterns and related technologies.
• Continuous Improvement: Provide input on potential improvements and corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

• Experience:
  • 2 to 5 years in the Insurance or Banking domain.
  • 5 to 8 years in Application Development within a large IT department.
• Technical Skills:
  • Designed Webbased Client/Backend systems and solutions using REST API.
  • Familiarity with asynchronous integration patterns and technologies (Azure Service Bus Queues).
  • Experience with Domain Driven Design patterns.
  • Functional analysis and largescale IT solution design (projects over 1000 mandays).
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Analytical Skills:
  • Capture main discussion points with both technical IT and business people.
  • Justify design choices based on architecture patterns and include data architecture in solutions.
• Project Management:
  • Estimating project workload leading business and IT discussions.
  • Experience in leading large projects (over 1000 mandays).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Life Insurance data modelling batch processing and scheduling.
• Knowledge of .NET/C# SQL Server Angular Azure Cloud Cobol and SQL databases.
• Understanding of Data Warehouse (Data Fabric) and Archimate standard.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Experience with centralized release management in large companies.
• Ability to interact with all technical and nontechnical members of the organization.

Language Skills

• Fluent in English.
• Fluent in Dutch or French with good proficiency in the other language.
