Job Description: Accounts Manager (Ship Ownership Organization)

Company Overview: Our client is a leading player in the maritime industry specializing in ship owningship management chartering and logistics. We operate a fleet of vessels across various segments including bulk carriers tankers and Gas carries. As we continue to expand we are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Accounts Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee financial transactions including accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions related to vessel operations crew salaries and other expenses.
- Prepare financial statements balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Indian taxation regulations for seafarers including income tax TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and other relevant provisions.
- Handle taxrelated queries from crew members.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
- Corporate Taxation:
- Manage corporate tax matters including filing annual returns advance tax payments and tax planning.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure accurate tax assessments.
- Monitor tax credits exemptions and incentives applicable to the maritime industry.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports for management review.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends costsaving opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Present financial performance updates to senior management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and monitor budgets for vessel operations maintenance and crew expenses.
- Forecast financial requirements and recommend costeffective strategies.
- Assist in financial planning for fleet expansion and capital investments.
- Internal Controls:
- Implement robust internal controls to prevent fraud errors and mismanagement.
- Conduct periodic audits of financial processes and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments (operations legal crewing) to align financial processes.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including banks insurers and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. CA CPA) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in maritime accounting or ship management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Tally SAP) and MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws especially related to seafarers and corporate taxation.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
