Overview

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop SQL database solutions to store and retrieve company information.
• Optimize SQL queries for improved performance and efficiency.
• Implement database security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with software developers to integrate userfacing elements with serverside logic.
• Create and maintain database documentation including data standards procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle focusing on coding and debugging.
• Manage ETL processes to ensure smooth data flow between systems.
• Conduct database modeling to visually represent the organizations data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues including problems related to data integrity.
• Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure database health and reliability.
• Assess and develop longterm strategic goals for production databases.
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning activities to ensure optimal database usage.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption to enhance the companys database solutions.
• Assist in database architecture and schema development.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance data quality and availability.

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven work experience as a SQL Developer or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of SQL and database management systems.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools for data integration transformation and loading.
• Proficiency in database design data modeling and implementation of optimized schema structures.
• Ability to analyze existing SQL queries for performance tuning and optimization.
• Indepth knowledge of TSQL and PL/SQL programming.
• Familiarity with BI tools and concepts for data visualization.
• Experience with database security and data backup/recovery solutions.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of best practices for database standards and data governance.
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
• Certifications in database administration or SQL development are a plus.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.
