Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation services to patients with various musculoskeletal neurological and orthopedic conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical exams and review of medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on improving patient mobility function and quality of life.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques including physical therapy occupational therapy medications and interventional procedures.
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about conditions treatments and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Participate in continuous education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Requirements:
- Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Licensure: Valid medical license to practice in the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience: Experience in physiatry preferably in a clinical setting.
- Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical examinations and procedures and to sit or stand for extended periods.
