Contributing to the store’s bottom line by providing an outlet for returned damaged, displayed, and discontinued merchandise to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a positive shopping experience by greeting customers, being visible and available at all times and managing first contact resolution. Assist customers in the ‘‘As-Is’’ area as needed
- Ensure accurate inspection and confirmation of all returned products, sending them to the appropriate departments
- Inspect, build and price merchandise for sale on the As- Is sales floor following the Recovery guidelines and clearly mark all ‘As-Is’ products
- Repackage as much product as possible to return to store inventory/sales floor
- Maintain Basic Actions in the Recovery areas ensuring we are always operating at IKEA Commercial Review standards
- Inspect returned products for damages or missing hardware or pieces and determine destination for products:
- Back To Stock, ‘As-Is’, spare parts, trash, etc.
- Replace, repackage and inventory hardware and spare part pieces by using parts inventory
- Keep accurate record of the returns
- Ensure an organized, safe environment in the recovery area, ‘As-Is’ room and builder’s room, including disposing of recycling and trash using appropriate systems, including various augers
- Work with other departments to increase overall store productivity
- Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
- Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur

- Good communication skills including legible handwriting
- Willingness to share your knowledge and learning
- Problem-solving and basic mathematical skills
- Ability to work with utility knives and scanner equipment
- Computer aptitude
