Senior Electrical Engineer with IPC JSTD

Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Combat Mission Systems business in the area of ground combat vehicles.
The candidate will work closely with one or more of our electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacture of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA)/circuit card assembly (CCA) and the associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures for one of our combat vehicle systems.
The selected candidate will be colocated with assigned suppliers to ensure an ongoing highlevel of production quality is met.
The primary supplier location for this position is Huntsville Alabama USA.
The engineer must have experience in the design and manufacture of PCBAs/CCAs and will help resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process concerns in direct support of production.
The engineer will investigate evaluate and support the resolution of supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.
Strong communication skills are required to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations; make progress reports and present findings.
The role requires familiarity with and experience in IPCA600 and IPC JSTD001 as well as subordinate IPC standards/guidelines.
A working knowledge of IPCA610 and IPCA620 are also strongly desired.
Expected Travel requirement: Regular work location for the candidate is at the supplier facility (identified above). Travel to other locations such as BAE Systems facilities or other supplier facilities may be required infrequently: Approximately 10% or less.
Additionally the candidate will:
Support team led problem solving and rootcause analysis activities with assigned supplier to eliminate recurrence of nonconformances.
Evaluate the impact of nonconforming product and assess suppliers corrective actions.
Help suppliers with process improvements to ensure to resolve manufacturing process concerns.
Drive Zero Defect mentality within the supply base.
Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings within the Integrated Product Team.

Required Skills:
Effective practical problem solver using structured problemsolving methods and systems;
Understanding of technical drawing requirements with ability to determine compliance;
Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and related industry software applications.
Effective clear communicator with strong written verbal and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills:
The following skills are preferred but are not required for the position:
Design of PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries
Working knowledge of MILPRF31032 MILPRF55110 IPCA610 and IPCA620
Fabrication processes equipment test and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries
Production line validation test equipment instrumentation and qualification of fabricated products
Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System AS9102C First Article Requirements AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements and Source Inspection.
Low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management Servo amplifier design manufacturing and test experience
Working knowledge of design for environmental qualification including EMI/EMC design and qualification principles
IPC6012 IPC6013 IPC6018 subordinate IPC standards/guidelines MILPRF31032 MILPRF55110 MILSTD883 MILPRF38534 and ASME Y14.5.

Experience Required:
At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant function and industry;
Working knowledge and familiarity with IPCA600 IPC JSTD001;
Exposure to Failure Analysis Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/ Preventative Actions;

Education Required:
Bachelors Degree
