Job Description

Job Title : Assistant Controller
Location : Tyler TX 75701
Type : Full Time Directhire

Requirements And Responsibilities:
  • Assists the corporate controller in directing the organizations accounting functions including cost payables and reporting.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of financial reporting.
  • Oversees the preparation of periodic reporting and required legal filings.
  • Ensures that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the organization.
  • Training of Accounting staff.
  • Implement and ensure organizational compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and/or prepare general ledger reconciliations.
  • Coordinate year end audits.
  • Help develop various forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team and with outside resources to evaluate processes and identify and implement changes in the daytoday operations with an eye toward improving productivity and increasing automation.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • BBA in Accounting Required
  • Minimum 5 years Accounting experience
  • CPA Required
  • Ability to learn and operate numerous computer software systems.
  • Extended Hours may be expected as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Minimal travel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of managerial experience.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Must work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Must work efficiently and effectively in a fastpaced environment with multiple and changing priorities.
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Analytical and detail oriented
