Job Title: Medical Assembler II (2nd Shift)
Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company
Duration: 12 months
Location: Brooklyn Park MN 55445
Timing: 2nd shift (3:30 PM 2:00 AM) Monday to Friday
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred with 12 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO certified assembly experience
- In lieu of a high school diploma 23 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO certified assembly experience
- Ability to communicate via telephone email or in person to supervisors leads and team members
- Ability to understand verbal and written work instructions
- Basic mathematical skills (add subtract multiply divide)
- Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow related practices and procedures
- Ability to perform repetitive work according to set procedures sequence and pace
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practice Good Manufacturing Practices and Lean Manufacturing preferred
- Maintains confidentiality of documents and processes
- Fine motor skills and high degree of dexterity and eye coordination to work with and assemble small parts and subassemblies using both hands
- Ability to operate manufacturing and measurement equipment following appropriate training (e.g. microscopes test equipment EFDs ultrasonic welders soldering irons dial calipers pressure gauges rulers)
- Basic MS Windows skills and sitespecific PC programs following training
Responsibilities:
- Successfully attain knowledge skills and abilities associated with the Assembler I job description
- Experienced in assembling medical devices on two or more product lines at or above the quantity standard rate
- Demonstrates understanding of Quality System Policies by referencing and explaining written line procedures
- Complete and maintain accurate records of manufacturing operations on production documentation (e.g. Device History Records Data Sheets Lot Control)
- Understand and carry out instructions from the Supervisor or Lead regarding priorities work schedules special assignments and job standards
- Adaptable to changes in procedures and able to learn new procedures due to product line and technology modifications
- May be asked to crosstrain on various product line operations
- May assist Assembler III or Lead in training procedures
- General understanding of LEAN Manufacturing Principles to assist in improving established metrics
- Proactively inform lead or supervisor of material shortages
- Maintain a safe work environment by following housekeeping and safety guidelines (e.g. ergonomics job rotation tool handling preventive maintenance)
- Maintain acceptable attendance standards and work overtime and varying shifts as needed
- Use time effectively and constructively avoiding idle conversation that disrupts others
- Volunteer in Shared Leadership activities (e.g. Kanban Management Calibration Metrics Board Maintenance)
- Perform all other essential duties as directed
