Position: Southern Indiana Child Fatality Review Coordinator

Location: 2 N Meridian St Indianapolis In 46204

Duration: 3 Months

  • Position is remote Monday thru Friday7.5hour days 37.5hour week with significant travel throughout Indiana for inperson meetings throughout the community and to the state offices for mandatory meetings.
  • Provides technical support of local Southern Indiana Child Fatality Review teams building networks of partnerships and with the planning implementation and evaluation of programs.

  • Child Fatality Review (CFR) is a process that works to understand child deaths in order to prevent harm to other children. Local CFR teams are required by IC 1649 in all Indiana Counties and the Division of DFP supports the teams through coordination; working with community leaders to maintain and enhance their review teams developing partnerships with child health and safety organizations; and implementation of CFR team recommendations in order to prevent child mortality and morbidity.
  • The SCFRC will serve as one of three program liaisonsNorthern Central and Southern for the Division of Family Health Data and Fatality Prevention (DFP); and Indiana community stakeholders.
  • The SCFRC will work in Southern Indiana to assist with monitoring the progress of the IDOHs priorities and DFPs objectives and assist with the creation and maintenance of CFR infrastructure.
  • This will include technical support of local CFR teams building networks of DFP partnerships and with the planning implementation and evaluation of programs. The SCFRC will assist local CFR teams and community partners to promote prevention messaging and practice throughout Indiana.
  • This may include assessing community strengths and identifying gaps in services assisting with collaboration efforts and making recommendations to the DFP division director for strategic program planning.

Required skills:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office PowerPoint; Word; Excel; Access; PowerPoint; experience with software for data analysis willing to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal ability to facilitate meetings and trainings.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing multiple ongoing projects while successfully completing work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Strong relational and people development skills; community development
  • Ability to identify build coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with other programs in the private and public sectors.
  • Assist in the creation guidance and maintenance of CFR infrastructure provide technical support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to complete tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with a team for joint projects.
  • Ability and/or willingness to gain a knowledge of the organization and function of state and local health agencies; gain specialized knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Extensive travel is required for this position. Candidate must be willing to travel within the State of Indiana.
  • Prior experience in a coordinator role for a communitybased program preferably health/wellnessbased program.
  • Bachelors degree in public health Social Work or equivalent preferred
