Job Description
As a Firmware FA Engineer in the Solid State Drives (SSD) group at Micron Technology you will develop firmware functional integration activities that ensures the firmware subsystem meets the quality functional and performance requirements required at each integration landmark in the product development lifecycle develop and deliver a functional integrity test process that is capable of continuously improving preintegration firmware quality perform failure analysis on Firmware issues and determine root cause for Enterprise Solid State Drives products.
This role also involves designing automated solutions to exercise firmware functionality verify reliability endurance and performance requirements of Solid State Drives for the enterprise market.
You can expect to work closely with fellow firmware test engineers firmware developers system hardware design engineers product engineers Flash memory design engineers and production engineers to solve crossfunctional design issues.
As needed you will verify design using a variety of verification methods including simulation FPGA prototyping and product testing.
Your focus will be on firmware quality in the system and the target application develop new test tools and methods.
Using analysis equipment or software you will demonstrate the effective analysis of functional or performance issues with the firmware and hardware in test environments or target host systems.
Competencies
Agile Way of Working C EIS : Embedded Software/Firmware Development
Essential Skills:
Proficiency in SSD firmware design using assembly C and C programming Python scripting.
Proficiency in objectoriented design and architecture for reuse
Ability to define and document sound architectural documents and models.
Knowledge of storage systems Flash memory and device drivers (preferred)
Knowledge of storage interfaces such as ONFI NVMe PCIe.
Proficiency in debugging in an embedded firmware application.
Proficiency in using development tool chains targeted for embedded processor.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic/bus analyzers.
Ability to analyze complex SSD firmware and hardware issues.
A high level of skill in problem recreation and trapping.
The ability to find creative solutions to difficult problems.
A high level of selfmotivation and dedication
The ability to work well on a team based in different worldwide locations.
The ability to multitask effectively in fastpaced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Handson experience in firmware

Full Time
