Job Description
Position Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in assisting the surgical team before during and after surgical procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with surgeons nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment. Surgical Tech certification is required within 6 months from hire and BLS certification is required upon hire.
Essential Duties:
Prepare and maintain the surgical suite ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and readily available.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments sponges and other supplies.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure.
Prepare and transport patients to and from the operating room ensuring their safety and comfort.
Assist with patient positioning and prepping as well as draping the surgical site.
Perform preoperative and postoperative duties including preparing and cleaning the surgical area.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a Surgical Technician program from an accredited institution.
Surgical Tech certification required within 6 months from hire.
Current BLS certification required upon hire.
Prior experience working as a Surgical Technician preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
