Overview
The Process Engineer in injection molding/fabrication plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process. They are responsible for optimizing production processes addressing quality issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize injection molding/fabrication processes to improve efficiency and reduce production costs
- Monitor and analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement process changes to improve product quality and consistency
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Lead process validation activities and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Conduct root cause analysis for processrelated nonconformances and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain process documentation including standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and process feasibility
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process capabilities and reduce waste
- Support new product introductions and process scaleups
- Collaborate with suppliers to qualify new materials and processes
- Utilize statistical methods to analyze process data and make datadriven decisions
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in the production area
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in injection molding/fabrication
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in injection molding or fabrication processes
- Strong knowledge of process optimization and lean manufacturing principles
- Experience in quality control and root cause analysis techniques
- Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing
- Experience with process validation and documentation
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality management tools
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic production environment
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is a plus
