Job Description

We are seeking an experienced L3 Desktop Engineer to join our team. As an L3
Desktop Engineer you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and
expertise in resolving complex desktop infrastructure issues. You will work closely with
other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems and
applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills excellent
communication abilities and a deep understanding of desktop technologies.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for desktop hardware
software and peripherals.
2. Diagnose and resolve complex desktop infrastructure issues including hardware and
software failures performance problems and connectivity issues.
3. Act as a subject matter expert for desktop technologies and provide guidance to L1
and L2 support teams.
4. Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and maintain desktop infrastructure
solutions including operating system deployments patch management and software
distribution.
5. Participate in the planning design and implementation of desktoprelated projects
and initiatives.
6. Create and maintain documentation for desktop systems configurations and
procedures.
7. Stay uptodate with emerging desktop technologies and industry best practices.
8. Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members as needed.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in desktop support or a related field with at least 2
years in a Level 3 support role.
3. Strong technical skills in troubleshooting desktop hardware software and
peripherals.
4. Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
5. Experience with desktop management tools such as SCCM JAMF or similar.
6. Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols.
7. Excellent problemsolving and analytical abilities.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
10. Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A Microsoft Certified Desktop Support
Technician) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies such as VMware
Horizon or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
2. Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
3. Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
4. Experience working in a regulated industry such as healthcare or finance.
