Zembo is a startup company in Uganda paving the way to emobility revolution in Africa. The company offers electric motorcycle taxis and battery swapping services across its network of recharging stations in Uganda.


Following 6 years of operation Zembo is the most experienced African provider of electric motorcycles and battery swap services on the continent. We are now scaling up in Uganda to continue providing an affordable and environmentally responsible mobility solution. See

Your role


As the Repair Workshop Leader you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our repair workshop operations. Your primary focus will be to develop and implement streamlined repair processes lead a team of technicians and ensure the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence fostering a culture of continuous improvement and delivering exceptional repair services to our customers. The Repair Center Leader has a key role to maximize the time on the road of our clients which directly equates to their incomes as professional boda drivers.

  1. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of technicians providing guidance training and support to ensure high performance and adherence to quality standards.
  2. Allocate work to technicians to ensure vehicle service is done by qualified technicians depending on complexity
  3. Coordinate quality control inspections to ensure all faults are identified before delivery to customers in order to avoid repeat jobs and customer complaints;
  4. Maintain all workshop equipment and monitor use by technicians to ensure the equipment are in good working condition at all times for minimal disruption to workshop operations;
  5. Manage inventory levels procure necessary parts and equipment and ensure adequate stock levels to support repair operations.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement KPIs to track workshop performance analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards and promote a safe working environment for all team members.


Requirements

Your profile


Minimum requirements

Certificate or DIPLOMA in Automotive Engineering or electrical engineering

5 years relevant experience with 2 years at Supervisory level.

Professionalism maintains a professional approach based on ethics and Zembo values

Integrity honesty and ethics ensures ethical practices and integrity to protect Zembo from reputational risk

Communication Skills

Customer orientationis customer focused striking a solid balance between external and internal customer orientation

Resilience is able to withstand strategic and operational challenges and maintain momentum

Emotional Intelligencemanages emotions in a mature and composed manner as expected of a leader
